In 2008 Won the grand prize in a Wilton Cake decorating contest where she attended a Master Course at the Wilton School of Cake Decorating and Confectionery Art. Accepted a job with Wilton as a cake decorator. She decorated cakes and cookies for product packaging and publications including the 2011 and 2012 Wilton Yearbooks. In 2011, Amber returned home to the state of NY to follow her dream of turning her part time cookie business, SweetAmbs, into a full time career.

- I fell in love with the DoughEZ the second I saw a tutorial online on how to use the system. I quickly ordered mine and haven’t looked back since. I used to dread rolling out dough because of the insane floury mess that was involved every time. Not only has it eliminated the need for extra flour, it has completely taken the guess work out of dough thickness and baking times. Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes and other treats to families impacted by the critical illness of a child. We understand that the simple things, like a birthday cake, are luxuries to a family battling illness. Our goal is to create a custom cake for the ill child, or their sibling, that provides a temporary escape from worry and creates a positive memory during a difficult time.
Memories have magical powers. Long after the cake is gone, the memories linger – memories of the kindness of a stranger, of the art of the design, of the sweet smells of a special treat, of the smiles and laughs, of a normal childhood experience so often stolen from these children. These memories are why we say, “It is so much more than a cake.”
